Head Chef – Care Home (Thetford, Norfolk)
An exciting permanent full-time role has opened for a committed Head Chef to work in a purpose-built care home in Thetford, Norfolk, offering residential and nursing care for older adults, including dementia support.
You will be joining one of the UK’s leading healthcare providers, dedicated to exceptional care standards.
About the Role
To be considered, you must have proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a similar care setting.
As Head Chef, your key responsibilities include:
- Providing nutritious and balanced meals for residents while maintaining culinary excellence.
- Managing the kitchen staff, ensuring food safety compliance, and overseeing menu planning.
- Training and supervising team members to uphold high health and safety standards and maintain a well-organised kitchen.

Qualities & Experience (Desirable)
- Culinary degree or certification
- Nutrition and dietary needs expertise
- Leadership and team management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to collaborate across care home departments
- Time management under pressure, with adaptability to flexible hours (including weekends/holidays)
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Ability to train and mentor kitchen staff
