Head Chef Job Description

As Head Chef, you will be at the forefront of our kitchen operations, shaping the culinary direction of our establishment. Your role involves:

  • Leading the kitchen team
  • Maintaining high standards of food quality
  • Monitoring KPIs
  • Ensuring operational efficiency

This is a critical leadership role for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced, motivating environment and is committed to excellence.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the team through positive and constructive methods
  • Achieve consistent Gulf Profit (GP) results
  • Ensure accurate labor forecasting to achieve targets
  • Maintain a high customer satisfaction score
  • Ensure the Prep Team and Goods Receiver follow management instructions
  • Execute precise ordering to ensure full menu availability with minimum wastage
  • Conduct accurate daily due diligence
  • Prioritise staff wellbeing and work towards high staff retention
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff to maintain high food standards
  • Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Head Chef or equivalent role in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Strong culinary skills and a passion for quality and creativity
  • Leadership abilities with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of EBITDA & GP (Gross Profit)
  • Ability to analyse P&L (Profit & Loss statements) to implement positive cost-cutting measures for improved overall profit margin
  • Proven resilience in thriving under high-pressure, fast-paced conditions
  • Hands-on experience in organising and leading a large kitchen team
