Head Chef
A Kitchen of Your Own
Head Chef & Profit-Share Partner — La Bibliothèque
La Bibliothèque is a Mediterranean–Japanese fusion dining and cocktail bar on Kingsland Road, Hackney, one of three venues in a growing, family-run hospitality group. We are looking for an exceptional, self-sufficient chef to take ownership of our kitchen—not as an employee, but as a genuine partner in its success.
The Opportunity
- Run the La Bibliothèque kitchen as its sole Head Chef, with full creative and operational control.
- Become a profit-share owner—a real stake in the restaurant you help build, not just a salary.
- Be supported by a 15-hour-per-week kitchen porter, with scope to grow the team as the business grows.
- Shape and evolve a distinctive Mediterranean–Japanese fusion menu, including our signature bottomless dining experience.
- Join a hands-on, family-run group with three established Hackney venues and an expanding footprint in London and Stockholm.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
