Head Chef

About the Role
Spire Alexandra Hospital is seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead our catering team and ensure consistently high-quality, freshly prepared meals for patients, staff, consultants, and visitors within a busy hospital setting.
The role extends beyond standard kitchen duties, encompassing compliance with food safety and health & safety legislation while catering for special functions and tailored dietary requirements.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve hot and cold meals in adherence to corporate standards
- Maintain HACCP and full compliance with health & safety regulations
- Oversee service operations in both the staff restaurant and patient catering areas
- Support special functions and tailored dietary needs across the hospital
- Perform delivery checks and maintain accurate food safety records
- Ensure a clean, safe, and well-organised kitchen environment
- Work collaboratively with the wider catering team to uphold quality standards

Requirements
- Proven experience in a busy, high-volume kitchen
- Preference for healthcare or restaurant-style catering experience
- Level 3 Food Safety qualification
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong organisational abilities and a team-focused mindset
