Head Chef

We’re on the hunt for a talented Head Chef to take the reins in one of our lively pubs. Part of the JW Lees family brewery, we’re all about fresh, classic pub fayre done properly, with plenty of room to make your mark. This kitchen has loads of potential just waiting to be unlocked, so if you love leading a team, keeping standards high, and bringing a bit of personality to the plate, we want to hear from you.

Requirements

  • A dedicated and professional leader ensuring that kitchen standards are maintained to the very highest standard
  • Passionate about cooking great food and ensuring every dish leave the kitchen to specification
  • Excellent stock control practices
  • Ability to motivate your team to perform to the best of their cooking capabilities
  • Skills in mentoring and developing your team, passing on your skills, knowledge and experience
  • Creative flair for developing in-house specials
  • Ability to lay the ground rules and have overall responsibility over daily operations within the kitchen
  • Ability to achieve 5* Scores on the doors
  • Exemplary work ethic to inspire your team to send the perfect dish on time every time

Responsibilities

  • Maintain kitchen standards to the very highest standard
  • Ensure every dish leaves the kitchen to specification
  • Maintain excellent stock control practices
  • Motivate and mentor your team, passing on skills, knowledge and experience
  • Develop in-house specials
  • Oversee daily operations within the kitchen
  • Ensure the kitchen achieves 5* Scores on the doors
