Head Chef

£43,675 + paid overtime Hours: 6:30am – 6:30pm | Weekly average: 42 hours Location: Woodpeckers, Brockenhurst


We’re seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen at Woodpeckers, offering a rare opportunity to blend culinary excellence with enriching, resident-focused dining.

In a modern kitchen equipped with high-end appliances, you’ll excel at preparing fresh, home-cooked meals using locally sourced ingredients. Your culinary talents will be vital in shaping daily menus, including freshly baked treats, while supporting residents’ wellbeing through nourishing, high-quality food.

Beyond exceptional cookery skills, you’ll be the driving force behind the dining experience:

  • Engage with residents to understand preferences and curate customised meals.
  • Introduce new flavours and ideas for special events within the home.
  • Lead both kitchen and waiting teams, fostering collaboration, high standards, and a positive working environment.

About you

  • A City & Guilds 706 1/2, NVQ Level 2 in Catering/Cookery, or equivalent (e.g. Level 2 Commis Chef) experience is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record in similar role settings.
  • Passionate about fostering connection and enjoyment through food.
