- A charismatic, empathetic approach with an eagerness to improve residents’ lives through care and nutrition
- Certification: Hold a City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ in Cookery or equivalent
- Team Leadership: Proven experience in motivating, inspiring and mentoring teams
- Nutritional focus on local, seasonal produce—with a solid understanding of food safety standards
- Creative flair for designing warm, inviting dining environments in care settings
- Menu development skills tailored to individual dietary needs
- Postinent front-of-house collaboration to maintain restaurant-quality standards
- HACCP and COSHH compliance knowledge
- IDDSI framework familiarity—or a willingness to learn (supportive training provided!)
Your Role & Responsibilities
As Head Chef, you’ll be responsible for multiple areas to ensure we deliver the best standards:
- Team Leadership:
- Inspire, train and upskill your entire kitchen and front-of-house team
- Lead recruitment and retention strategies
- Kitchen Expertise:
- Develop + create+ tailor bespoke menus for residents, prioritising person-centred care
- Prioritise fresh, seasonal produce to deliver high-quality, nourishing dishes of the highest standards
- Lead from sourdough to scratch-baked cakes & scones—mastery expected!
- Operational Excellence:
- Liaise with the front-of-house team to prepare dining areas impeccably
- Balance budget control with independent audits and rigorous stock management
- Cultural Impact: Cultivate a welcoming, efficient and inspiring kitchen environment
- Performance monitoring: Maintain kitchen productivity, quality and overall restaurant standards
