Head Chef Designate
Head Chef Designate at The Golden Fleece, Thirsk
Due to some long-term absences, we are seeking an ambitious individual to step into this leadership role in our busy kitchen. As Head Chef Designate, you will manage the day-to-day operations of a fresh food kitchen, catering to guests from breakfast through to evening, striving to deliver exceptional food experiences. The ideal candidate will be a chef on a professional journey with:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef
- Ambition to achieve a rosette award (or similar)
- Skilled in cost management, particularly gross profit margins
- Proven ability as a people manager

Role Requirements
We are looking for a talented professional who aligns with the following:
Key Responsibilities
- Passion for Food Trends: Inspiration and innovation in creating exceptional dishes, staying abreast of culinary trends
- Culinary Excellence: Unwavering dedication to maintaining high standards of fresh food quality
- Operations Management:
- Ability to cope with high-volume kitchen demand
- Consistently achieve 5-star Environmental Health Office (EHO) ratings
- Team Leadership: Experience in leading, motivating, and developing culinary teams
- Strategy & Costing: Skilled in menu creation and cost analysis to meet financial targets
- Profit-Driven Mindset: Experience working towards labour and gross profit (GP) targets
