Head Chef

About the Role We are currently recruiting an ambitious Head Chef to help us create exceptional food experiences for CH&CO on a full-time basis (40 hours per week, 45 weeks per year), operating a 5-out-of-7-day shift pattern.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering outstanding culinary experiences while contributing to a company that invests in its employees, celebrates individuality, and recognises those who go the extra mile.


Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparing delicious, high-quality food that delights our clients and customers
  • Identifying opportunities to improve our food service
  • Creating a positive kitchen environment where your team feels welcomed and supported
  • Delivering our tasty food concepts to customers
  • Representing Compass Group UK&I and maintaining a positive brand image
  • Ordering food, managing stock control, and controlling food waste
  • Overseeing kitchen cleaning to maintain hygiene standards
  • Managing budgets and meeting financial targets
  • Complying with Food Handling & Hygiene standards
  • Adhering to Health & Safety regulations

Ideal Candidate Requirements

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced professional with the following attributes:

  • Qualification: Hold a City & Guilds Level 3 706/1 & 2 qualification or an NVQ equivalent
  • Leadership: Create a positive work environment where the team can thrive
  • Communication: Must be a brilliant communicator and able to build strong relationships
  • Experience: Preference for experience in a similar Head Chef role
  • Attitude: Strives for excellence, driven, enthusiastic, and motivated
  • Decision-making: Takes initiative and makes customer-focused decisions
  • Resilience: Ability to work under pressure
  • Reliability: Exceptional timekeeping and reliability
  • Safety-first mindset: Strong commitment to food safety and hygiene protocols
  • Passion: Passionate about food
