About the Role
Do you have experience leading a team to success in the kitchen and want to take the next step in your hospitality career?
As a Head Chef in Training with Mitchells & Butlers, you’ll be based in a local district, equipped with training, support, and the opportunity to rapidly develop into a Head Chef. This is a fantastic opportunity for those seeking their first Head Chef position.
What You’ll Do
During Your Training Period (6 months)
- Learn how to build and manage a kitchen following the unique Mitchells & Butlers approach.
- Oversee training programmes to ensure your team is equipped to deliver consistently high-quality food.
- Drive sales targets and improve guest satisfaction through effective leadership.
- Manage kitchen operations—ordering, preparation, stock control, and hygiene compliance.
- Develop partnerships within your district and support business goals using your own vehicle.

Upon Training Completion:
- Assume the role of Head Chef in your own kitchen at Sizzling Pub & Grill (or another award-winning pub brand), where every team member welcomes guests with enthusiasm.
Who You Are
- A skilled leader with experience managing teams and driving business performance.
- Currently (or previously) working in roles such as:
- Commercial catering manager
- School kitchen manager
- Care home head chef
- Sous chef
- Deputy kitchen manager
- Have or are eligible to obtain full and unrestricted access to drive a vehicle for business purposes.
