Head Chef

Head Chef – Lindisfarne Inn | The Inn Collection Group

About The Role

We’re on the hunt for an ambitious and talented Head Chef to join our award-winning culinary team at the Lindisfarne Inn, the nearest mainland pub to the iconic Holy Island. Nestled on the A1, south of Berwick-upon-Tweed, our inn is a premier spot for walkers, cyclists, and travellers looking to explore Northumberland and Scotland—offering superb home-cooked meals, a warm welcome, and unforgettable customer experiences.

As Head Chef here, you’ll craft exceptional dining environments that guests remember and return to. Beyond defined menu operation, you lead your team to deliver culinary excellence each day—because great food shapes great memories.

If you’re passionate about building a great kitchen culture, supporting your team’s growth, and driving consistent hospitality success, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set culinary standards: Develop and maintain menus that reflect quality, freshness, and creativity, ensuring every dish meets (or exceeds) guest expectations.
  • Lead your kitchen team: Mentor, motivate, and develop kitchen staff to deliver consistent, professional service while maintaining a positive work environment.
  • Performance excellence: Uphold financial targets for food costs, wastage, and wages, operating efficiently with tight budget controls.
  • Operaational leadership: Oversee daily kitchen operations, closely managing inventory, supplier relationships, and end-to-end service from order to guest delivery.
  • Dedication to detail: Champion cleanliness, presentation, and precision in every dish served—a passion for perfection is a must.
  • Compliance & legislation: Ensure all food safety standards, hygiene practices, and legal requirements are strictly adhered to.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
