Head Chef

Head Chef – Collinsons Restaurant, Broughty Ferry

Location: Broughty Ferry, Dundee Position: Full Time Salary: £33,000 – £37,000 per year

Collinsons Restaurant in the heart of Broughty Ferry is seeking an exceptional Head Chef to lead our kitchen and uphold the legacy of one of the region’s most respected dining destinations.

For many years, Collinsons has delivered refined, high-quality dining, paired with outstanding service and a warm atmosphere. As a favourite Spot for locals and visitors alike, we’re proud of the memorable culinary experiences we provide.

We are now looking for a passionate, experienced, and creative Head Chef—someone who shares our commitment to excellence and can inspire the kitchen team with professionalism, energy, and vision.


The Role

As Head Chef, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the kitchen while maintaining Collinsons’ high standards and driving innovation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and developing seasonal menus, blending modern fine dining techniques with locally sourced ingredients
  • Ensuring exceptional food quality, presentation, and consistency at all times
  • Managing stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships efficiently
  • Adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Optimising kitchen costs, portion control, and gross profit margins
  • Collaborating with the front-of-house team to deliver a flawless dining experience
  • Preserving Collinsons’ reputation for professionalism, quality, and culinary excellence

The Ideal Candidate

We’re seeking a seasoned leader who excels in fine dining and high-performing kitchens.

You’ll have:

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a quality restaurant environment
  • A deep background in fine dining or modern fine cuisine
  • A passion for seasonal produce and creative menu development
  • Strong organisational, leadership, and team management skills
  • An unwavering commitment to food hygiene, safety, and efficiency
  • The ability to thrive under pressure during peaks and busy services
  • A reputation for excellence and a genuine passion for outstanding culinary craft
