Job Description

Fairmont St Andrews has officially reopened St Andrews Bay Clubhouse & Grill and seeks an exceptional Head Chef to bring this new concept to life.

The restaurant will focus on:

  • Premium seafood
  • Signature steaks
  • Farm-to-fork ethos

This is a unique opportunity to shape a kitchen from the ground up within one of Scotland’s most iconic five-star resorts.


The Role

As Head Chef, you will:

  • Lead the kitchen alongside the Executive Chef
  • Set operational standards, develop menus, and deliver high-quality dishes daily
  • Manage a small, tight-knit team, fostering engagement and pride through hands-on leadership
  • Handle small events and private dining, demonstrating flexibility, creativity, and strong organisational skills
  • Navigate seasonal production challenges and logistical hurdles inherent to coastal operations

    • Coordinate kitchen onboarding and ongoing training

    • Participate in daily cooking duties as needed

Qualifications: About You

Ideal candidates have:

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef, or as a Senior Sous Chef with leadership potential
  • A deep passion for seafood, steaks, and British seasonal produce
  • Strong interpersonal skills to lead and inspire small teams
  • Commercial acumen in cost management and menu development
