Head Chef

Head Chef – Hands-On Leadership Role

Location

Hoar Cross Hall, Staffordshire

Responsible To: Executive Chef

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team. This is a hands-on, operational role where you’ll work side by side with your team, setting the standard in both service and quality.

As Head Chef, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and exceptional food standards. You’ll lead by example, training and motivating your team, managing stock and costs, and delivering outstanding dining experiences for our guests and colleagues.


Key Responsibilities

  • Leading from the front—cooking, plating, and ensuring dishes meet the highest standards
  • Supporting menu development using fresh, seasonal, and local ingredients
  • Training, mentoring, and motivating a team of chefs and kitchen staff
  • Overseeing stock management, minimising waste, and controlling costs
  • Ensuring food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards are maintained
  • Engaging with guests and responding to feedback to guarantee satisfaction

What We’re Looking For

  • An experienced chef with strong leadership skills and a hands-on approach
  • A passion for fresh, seasonal food and a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to be organised, calm under pressure, and confident in leading busy services
  • A natural team player who can inspire, train, and develop others
  • Knowledge of HACCP, COSHH, and food safety regulations

Terms & Conditions

  • Working pattern: 5 days per week
  • Hours: 45 hours per week
  • Salary: £48,667.50 per annum
  • Flexibility required: Evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays as needed
  • Right to Work: Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK
