Are you a commercially driven finance leader looking for a strategic role in a fast-paced FMCG environment? We are searching for an experienced Head of Finance for Operations to take ownership of operational finance across two operational key sites.

Reporting directly to the UK CFO, this role is a key part of the UK Finance Leadership Team and acts as the senior finance partner to the Operations Director and Operational Leadership Team. You will provide strategic financial leadership, insight, and challenge to drive performance, efficiency, and profitability across these critical sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior operational stakeholders to align strategy and enhance profitability.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, planning, and performance reviews at the operational level.
  • Deliver comprehensive financial insights, challenge decisions, and drive accountability.
  • Implement cost control, ensure KPI ownership, and maintain stringent governance processes.
  • Optimise systems, reporting, and processes, improving operational costing accuracy and transparency.
  • Build and develop a commercially focused Operational Finance team.
  • Manage and develop skills within the team.

About You

You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with significant experience in a senior operational finance role. You’re commercially astute with a proven track record of success in FMCG, manufacturing, or similarly complex, high-volume, low-margin sectors.

  • Expertise in partnering with senior operational leadership to support decision-making.
  • Strong commercial acumen and proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and performance management.
  • A proven ability to lead, develop, and inspire finance teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Confidence and capability to constructively challenge and influence at senior levels.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, finance transformation, or fresh produce (preferred but not required).

Salary

£100-120k basic, cash car allowance and up to 20% bonus. Hybrid working arrangement with 4 days office-based. There is flexibility on when you are on-site across the two locations, with adjustable start and finish times to accommodate personal or family commitments.
