Head Gardener / Groundsman (Part-Time) – Wedding Venue

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Gardener / Groundsman to join our team at a beautiful wedding venue in Llangollen, North Wales.

Hours: Approximately 24 hours per week (flexible working pattern available)

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the high standards of our grounds and gardens, ensuring the venue always looks its best for weddings and events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and developing planting schemes throughout the grounds
  • Planting, weeding, pruning, and caring for flower beds and borders
  • Lawn care, including mowing, feeding, treating, and general turf maintenance
  • Hedge trimming and general garden upkeep
  • Seasonal planting and garden improvements
  • General grounds maintenance, ensuring all outdoor areas are clean, safe, and presentable
  • Assisting with venue preparations for weddings and special events as required

Essential Requirements:

  • Previous experience in grounds maintenance, gardening, horticulture, or a similar role
  • Good knowledge of planting schemes and plant care
  • Experience in lawn treatment and maintenance
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • A keen eye for detail and pride in maintaining high standards

Desirable:

  • Horticultural qualifications or relevant training
  • Experience working within hospitality, estates, or wedding venues
  • PA1/PA6 certification or experience using horticultural treatments
