Head Ghillie (Head Concierge)

Location: The Fife Arms Hotel, Braemar, Scotland

Awarded Condé Nast Traveler Triple Crown and holder of 2 Michelin Keys, the Fife Arms is one of Scotland’s most celebrated hotels. We are seeking an exceptional Head Ghillie (Head Concierge) to lead and inspire our Concierge team at the Fife Arms.

This is a rare opportunity to shape and deliver truly individual, immersive guest experiences in one of the world’s most distinctive luxury hotels. Combining a passion for service with strong commercial instinct, you will elevate every stage of the guest journey—while driving revenue through curated experiences, partnerships, and bespoke services.

Working closely with the Deputy General Manager, Front of House Manager, and Reservations & Revenue Manager, you will position the Ghillie team at the heart of the guest experience, acting as both host and storyteller for everything the hotel and local area have to offer.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Operations

  • Lead and inspire the Ghillie (Concierge) team, ensuring seamless daily operations
  • Maintain exceptional service standards, presentation, and professionalism
  • Oversee the Head Driver and driving team, ensuring a premium experience across all transport services

Guest Experience

  • Deliver intuitive, personalised service, anticipating guest needs at every touchpoint
  • Build and share expert knowledge of the hotel, local culture, heritage, and experiences
  • Create memorable, meaningful experiences that define each guest’s stay

Commercial Performance

  • Drive revenue across experiences, transport, and third-party partnerships
  • Ensure all offerings are commercially viable, competitively priced, and aligned with business targets
  • Identify opportunities to maximise guest spend through thoughtful upselling

Partnerships and Experiences

  • Build and nurture relationships with best-in-class local suppliers and partners
  • Curate distinctive, high-quality experiences that set the hotel apart
  • Regularly review performance to ensure both quality and profitability

Team Development

  • Coach and develop the team to deliver exceptional service and commercial results
  • Deliver training in product knowledge, storytelling, and sales techniques
  • Monitor performance and support continuous improvement

Compliance and Operations

  • Ensure full compliance with Health and Safety and company standards
  • Manage supplier compliance, equipment, and departmental resources
  • Support duty management responsibilities when required
  • Oversee vehicle standards and staff shuttle operations in collaboration with the Head Driver

About You

You are a dynamic and creative hospitality professional who thrives in a luxury environment and leads with confidence and authenticity.

  • Proven experience in a similar role within a luxury hotel or resort
  • Strong commercial awareness with a track record of driving revenue
  • Inspirational leadership style with the ability to develop high-performing teams
  • Exceptional communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
  • Passion for delivering unique and memorable guest experiences
  • High attention to detail with a proactive, hands-on approach
  • Strong IT skills (Microsoft 365 essential; Opera Cloud advantageous)
  • Knowledge of LQA / Forbes standards (preferred)
  • Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable working under pressure
  • Full, clean UK driving licence
  • Right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship not available)
