Head Housekeeper
As Head Housekeeper you will take overall responsibility for the cleanliness, presentation and organisation of the home, ensuring a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment is maintained at all times. This is a key leadership role where your standards and attention to detail will directly impact our residents’ daily life and overall experience.
You will lead and manage the housekeeping team, overseeing the cleaning of residents’ rooms, bathrooms and all communal areas to ensure consistently high standards of hygiene and presentation. You will coordinate daily operations, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and in line with infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures.

This is a hands-on supervisory role and is not supernumerary. The Head Housekeeper will be expected to work alongside the housekeeping team on a daily basis, actively participating in cleaning duties while supervising and supporting staff. By leading from the front, you will demonstrate best practice, promote high standards of cleanliness and infection control, and provide guidance, coaching and support to ensure consistent quality across the service.
Working closely with other departments, you will ensure a well organised and responsive service. You will monitor quality, manage supplies and support your team through training, guidance and leadership, creating a positive and high performing environment.

What We Are Looking For
- Previous experience in a housekeeping or supervisory role
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
- Good understanding of cleaning standards, hygiene and infection control
- Ability to manage workload, priorities and team performance
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to work alongside the team and lead by example in daily housekeeping duties
- Ability to demonstrate best practice and maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and infection control
- A proactive and supportive leadership style with a hands-on approach to supervision
