Head Housekeeper
*Head Housekeeper – Permanent Full-Time Position
Employment Type: Full-time | Permanent | 40-hour Week | Alternate Weekends
Location: Portsmouth, PO3 6GN
About the Role
As a Head Housekeeper, you will ensure the home is kept clean, safe, and hygienicwhile upholding high standards. Your responsibilities include:
- Supervising and managing team members
- Maintaining a positive and caring atmosphere for residents
- Demonstrating compassionate care in all tasks, whether conversing with residents, cleaning spaces, performing staff observations, or conducting infection control audits
You will bring a sense of purpose to an extremely rewarding role through dedication to excellence—whether dusting a resident’s room shared with fond memories, attending to bathroom hygiene, or providing constructive feedback in supervision.

Requirements
Essential
- A compassionate and caring nature
- Excellent communication skills and IT system proficiency
- Strong management and leadership skills
- Robust organisation and planning abilities
- A meticulous attention to detail, ensuring the highest possible standards
- Solid knowledge of health and safety, infection control, and COSHH procedures
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team
- Flexibility to adapt to varying work schedules
This role requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
