An excellent opportunity has arisen to join our expanding patient-centred and supportive ENT department at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting time to join us with the opportunity to support inpatient and outpatient transformation as part of a blended workforce as we develop inpatient and outpatient pathways.
About the Role
Our ENT service has a team of 5 consultants, two specialty doctors, three specialty trainees, and 6 junior doctors. This role will require the delivery of face-to-face onsite clinical sessions or within a community-based environment. The provision of assessment and management of a range of ENT conditions. Educate patients and their families on conditions, treatment options, and post-operative care. The post holder is expected to stay current with advancements in ENT treatments, technologies, and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide an Outpatient Service, along with other members of the department in the main outpatients based in Blackpool Victoria Hospital
- Carry out Benign Head and Neck, diagnostic surgical procedures, as well as routine ENT activity
- Support the running of the weekly Neck Lump Clinic along with radiologist and Fast track patient sessions
- Supervise, undertake, and deal with complications relating to the routine ENT surgical as well as Head and Neck procedures. Attendance in Head and Neck MDT and Thyroid MDT
- Contribute to clinical and educational activities within the directorate as determined by the assigned educational lead on your team and provide a high-quality service to the local population including an emergency on-call commitment

On-Call Commitment
The current expected on-call Rota is 1:5 including weekends and prospective cover. This is currently under review.
