Job Description

We’re seeking a Head of Accounting, Control & Compliance to join the Songtradr Group on a 12-month fixed-term basis. This role sits at the heart of the finance function, owning the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of entity accounting and compliance.

You’ll lead the accounting “engine room”, ensuring clean data, a fast month-end close, and compliance across all jurisdictions. This role reports to the Global CFO (Australia) and has a dotted-line relationship with the Head of Group Finance & Reporting (Australia) to ensure alignment on outputs, policies, and standards.

You’ll join a global finance team operating across multiple markets, supporting a fast-moving business which is shaping its finance function for the future. The expectation is that this role is a strong transformation lead with a high degree of ownership, bringing structure, discipline, attention to detail, and continuous improvement to accounting, controls, and compliance.

Main Job Duties

  • Responsible for leading the global accounting function and ensuring operational excellence across all core financial processes.
  • Ownership of the entity month-end close cycle, ensuring on-time accuracy and completeness of entity accounting and deliverables.
  • Manage, develop, and engage a team of five global-based finance professionals.
  • Work closely with the Finance Operations Manager and the Finance Operations team to collaborate on and ensure high-quality data entry, and to manage upstream and downstream processes.
  • Design, implement, and enforce internal control frameworks, including supporting the banking relationships. You’ll also have accountability for statutory and regulatory compliance across all jurisdictions, including payroll, filings, and audits.
  • Ownership of the ERP system as the accounting “super user”, supporting ongoing optimization and ensuring the Chart of Accounts remains clean, scalable, and aligned with Group Finance.
  • Drive continuous improvement across systems and processes to increase the accuracy, completeness, and speed of accounting and reporting.
  • Approve key payments across AP, payroll, statutory, and tax, and own relevant accounting policies in consultation with Group Finance and Finance Operations.
  • Other projects and tasks as required

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
