Shape the AI agenda of a leading private equity investor and its portfolio.
We're partnering with a highly respected mid-market private equity firm seeking a Head of AI to define and execute its AI strategy across both the fund and portfolio companies. This is a rare opportunity to build an AI capability from the ground up, operating at the intersection of investment, value creation, technology, and transformation.
Reporting to the Operating Partner and working closely with the Investment Team, you will lead the firm's AI agenda, identifying opportunities to create value within the fund itself and across a diverse portfolio of businesses.
You will be responsible for developing and implementing a pragmatic AI strategy that delivers measurable EBITDA impact, revenue growth, productivity improvements, and competitive advantage.

Fund-Level AI Strategy
- Define and execute the firm's AI vision and roadmap.
- Drive adoption of AI tools and automation across investment, portfolio monitoring, origination, due diligence, and internal operations.
- Establish AI governance, risk, compliance, and best-practice frameworks.
- Act as the firm's AI subject matter expert and trusted advisor to Partners and portfolio leadership teams.
Portfolio Value Creation
- Assess AI maturity and opportunities across portfolio companies.
- Develop and prioritise AI value-creation initiatives aligned to investment theses.
- Partner with CEOs, CTOs, and management teams to identify use cases with tangible commercial outcomes.
- Lead implementation programmes covering generative AI, workflow automation, predictive analytics, customer experience, software development productivity, and operational efficiency.
- Build repeatable AI playbooks that can be deployed across the portfolio.

We're looking for a commercially minded AI leader who combines strategic thinking with hands-on delivery experience.
Ideal Background
- Experience in Private Equity firms or portfolio companies is essential, combined with a background in consulting, ideally MBB or big 4.
- Significant experience leading AI, data, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Demonstrated track record of delivering AI programmes from strategy through implementation.
- Deep understanding of generative AI, automation, data platforms, and modern AI tooling.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence executives, investors, and portfolio company management teams.
- Strong commercial acumen and a focus on value creation outcomes.
