Head of Airside- Operations

Location: Glasgow Airport (GLA)

Reporting to: Station Manager

Contract: Full Time

Lead Airside Operations at Glasgow Airport

Swissport is the world's leading provider of airport ground services, supporting airlines and airports across the globe. We're looking for an experienced Head of Airside Services to lead our Glasgow operation, driving safe, efficient and high-performing airside services while developing and inspiring a large operational team.

This is a key leadership role with responsibility for ramp operations, baggage services, dispatch, aircraft cleaning and de-icing (where applicable), ensuring exceptional service delivery for our airline customers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day delivery of all airside operations.
  • Drive safety, operational performance and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage budgets, resources and operational costs.
  • Lead, coach and develop a large, diverse team.
  • Build strong relationships with airline customers and airport stakeholders.
  • Monitor KPIs and implement continuous improvements.
  • Ensure Swissport policies, SOPs and customer standards are consistently met.

Qualifications

  • Proven leadership experience in aviation, ground handling or a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Experience managing large teams and operational budgets.
  • Strong commercial awareness and customer focus.
  • Excellent communication, decision-making and people management skills.
  • Passion for safety, operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Degree or equivalent experience, with a minimum of three years' senior operational leadership experience.
