If so, we’re looking for a self-employed Consultant and brand ambassador to join Elite Tutors Sussex as Head of Alternative Provisions & Student Success—a role designed for someone who bridges gaps between stakeholders, holds deep SEND landscape knowledge, and can shape this function to grow.

A SENCO-led tutoring and consultancy consultancy, founded by qualified teachers and SENCOs. We specialise in supporting students with:

Key Responsibilities
This senior leadership role is relationship-driven and hands-on. Day-to-day, you’ll:
- Manage relationships from initial enquiry to long-term partnerships:
- Schools, local authorities, tutors, and families – advocating for students at every stage.
- Lead academic oversight for up to 25 students, including:
- Termly progress meetings
- Attendance at EHCP Annual Reviews
- Oversee our half-termly reporting process.
- Interpret and navigate EHCPs and student profiles, ensuring expert matches between young people and tutors.
- Support tutors with:
- Ongoing advice, specialist guidance
- Safeguarding oversight and training
- Professional development opportunities
- Act as Safeguarding Lead for this branch, including:
- Protocol governance and staff training
- Collaborate closely with:
- The PSHCE Lead
- Office team
- Company Director
What We’re Looking For
This role demands deep experience in SEND. Please only apply if you meet these essentials:
- Proven SENCO experience (not just support—you’ve held the role independently).
- Firsthand, intimate knowledge of EHCPs and navigating the SEND system.
- Exceptional communication—seamless with parents, schools, and LAs.
- Proven safeguarding competency (or a strong commitment to leading this).
- Disciplined organisation, with:
- Training in GDPR or resourcefulness to learn quickly
- Confidence working with our CRM system and digital tools (Tutor Cruncher).
- Formal SENCO qualification: NPQSENCO or equivalent is highly desirable.
