Job title: Head of AMS (SAP)
Employment: Permanent
Location: UK-Based, flexible (Remote/Hybrid)
Travel: Required
Salary: Competitive salary depending on experience, plus benefits
The role
We're reshaping how we support our customers, and this is a leadership position to continue driving our successful SAP AMS team forward. As Head of AMS, you'll own the support function end to end across the internal people, leadership figure for AMS, the customer relationships, and the commercial results, with a genuine say in how it's built, not just how it's run.
You'll report directly to the Head of SAP UK and sit as part of the senior leadership team, with real input into company direction. Your team also supports PreBilt, so you'll be working across both traditional SAP AMS and our own product giving a broader, more varied remit than most support leadership roles offer. You'll also get involved in winning and onboarding new customers alongside the sales team, not just supporting the ones you inherit.
What you'll be doing
- Leading the business unit to further success under your leadership
- Manage and mentor key roles within your function, own people processes, and act as the senior escalation point between the team, customers and the wider business. You'll also get involved in recruitment for the team.
- You’ll have the opportunity to own the commercials including management of the financial plan for the AMS division, working with Service Delivery Managers to keep every customer contract profitable. You'll be an advocate for TCT's products and services, spotting and helping win opportunities to grow accounts alongside the sales team.
- You're the senior point of contact when clients need it most. You'll build trust with them, resolve escalations, and take a lead role supporting proposals, quotations and RFP responses.
- Review how support currently works and change what isn't. You'll tighten up handovers from the project and consultancy teams, improve SLA performance, and lead our approach to quality and standards, including compliance.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Config Team
An independent, privately-owned SAP consultancy with decades of specialist experience behind us. We've built our reputation on honest, independent advice rather than pushing a fixed agenda and on treating our people properly, which is why we're rated 4.8 out of 5 by our own colleagues on Glassdoor and hold Investors in People Gold accreditation.
We also build our own technology. PreBilt, our proprietary mobile platform for SAP warehouse and supply chain operations, which is used globally. It's rare for a consultancy to have a product like this in the market and this role sits right at the intersection of the service and the software.
