Head of Architecture | Design Leadership

📍 Portsmouth | Hybrid Working | UK Travel as Required
💰 £70,000 - £90,000 + Performance Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits

A rare opportunity to shape and lead the architectural function within a growing multi-disciplinary design & build consultancy.

We're working with an ambitious and rapidly growing multi-disciplinary consultancy looking to appoint an exceptional Head of Architecture to establish, lead and develop its architectural capability.

This is a genuine senior leadership opportunity where you'll influence the strategic direction of the business, oversee the delivery of complex multidisciplinary projects and play a key role in shaping the future growth of the organisation.

Applications are welcomed from experienced Chartered Architects currently working as Associate Directors, Principal Architects, Senior Architects, Design Managers or Architecture Leads who are ready to step into a genuine Head of Architecture leadership role.

Opportunities of this nature rarely come to market, particularly within a business delivering nationally significant projects across Defence, Government and Critical National Infrastructure.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Head of Operational Delivery, you'll become the senior architectural authority across the business, leading design excellence whilst ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly and to the highest technical standards.

Working alongside Building Surveyors, Civil & Structural Engineers, M&E Engineers, Project Managers and specialist consultants, you'll provide strategic leadership across the full project lifecycle from concept through to completion.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
