Head Of Asset Disposal
Head of Asset Disposal Location: Ilkeston, Derbyshire

West Trailer Rentals is one of the UK's leading trailer rental and asset management businesses. As our fleet continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced Head of Asset Disposal to lead the sale of our ex-rental equipment and maximise the value of our assets throughout their lifecycle.
This is a commercially focused leadership role that will suit someone with a strong understanding of the commercial vehicle, trailer or transport equipment market and a passion for building customer relationships.
The Role Reporting directly to senior management, you will be responsible for developing and executing our asset disposal strategy, ensuring we achieve the highest possible residual values while maintaining strong market presence.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the disposal and remarketing of ex-rental trailers and transport equipment.
- Developing relationships with dealers, fleet operators, exporters and end users across the UK.
- Monitoring market trends, customer demand and competitor activity.
- Providing accurate residual value forecasts and market intelligence to support fleet purchasing decisions.
- Working closely with fleet, finance and operations teams to optimise asset lifecycle performance.
- Identifying new sales channels and opportunities to maximise returns.
- Delivering sales targets while maintaining exceptional customer service.

About You You'll be commercially driven, highly organised and an excellent negotiator with the ability to spot opportunities before the market does.
Ideally you'll have:
- Experience within the trailer, commercial vehicle, transport or plant equipment sector.
- A strong understanding of asset values and residual forecasting.
- Proven experience in equipment sales or asset disposal.
- Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills.
- The ability to analyse market trends and translate them into commercial decisions.
- A proactive, entrepreneurial approach with a desire to grow the business.
