The Church of England Pensions Board provides retirement services for those who work or minister for the Church. We are one of the biggest national charitable housing providers with c.1800 properties providing homes for around 2700 retired clergy and their spouses, and we administer three ethical pension schemes totalling over £3.7bn of investment. Through all the work we do, we are committed to supporting our residents and customers well and, as we celebrate our centenary, we have an exciting opportunity develop our organisation’s property strategy and oversee the delivery of a major programme of work that will ensure our residents continue to enjoy homes that are safe, modern and well maintained.

As our Head of Asset Management and Planned Work, a new role and key part of our housing senior leadership team, you will lead a capable and collaborative team to drive forward our new asset management strategy building upon significant additional funding secured to deliver the work required to ensure that our homes meet future needs in a rapidly changing landscape. Over the course of a two year fixed term contract, you will ensure that the Board’s portfolio is optimised for the future benefit of residents, the Board and the wider Church by delivering this major maintenance programme and also developing and overseeing new approaches to asset management in response to changing demand and requirements from residents.

With proven experience of shaping asset management strategy in a comparably complex organisation, whether across a residential portfolio or otherwise, you will be a collaborative leader able to shape and deliver large-scale planned works programmes. You will have a strong customer focus, the ability to engage well with a diverse range of stakeholders and a passion for delivering on net zero ambitions.
Previous knowledge of the Church of England is not required as it is your experience, insight, leadership and judgement that you will bring to this role.
