Head of Bid Management 📍 North West / Hybrid Working 💰 Excellent Salary + Car Allowance + Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits

Howells are working with a leading contractor operating within the property services, refurbishment and maintenance sector is seeking an experienced Head of Bid Management to lead and develop a high-performing bid function. This is a strategic leadership role where you will be responsible for overseeing the full bid lifecycle, ensuring submissions are commercially robust, compliant and aligned with wider business objectives. Working closely with senior operational and commercial stakeholders, you will play a key role in driving growth through successful tender activity across both public and private sector opportunities.

The Opportunity: As Head of Bid Management, you will lead an established team and take ownership of bid strategy, governance, resource planning and continuous improvement. You will ensure the business maintains a consistent and professional approach to tendering while supporting the identification and conversion of high-value opportunities.

Key responsibilities include: Leading and developing a successful Bid Management function Managing bid strategy, governance and quality assurance processes Working with operational and commercial teams to identify and prioritise opportunities Overseeing workload planning and resource allocation across the bid team Facilitating bid reviews, risk assessments and commercial sign-off processes Supporting client presentations, clarifications and post-tender activities Driving continuous improvement through lessons learned and market intelligence Producing management information and performance reporting for senior leadership Embedding best practice across the bid lifecycle

About You: We are keen to speak with experienced bid leaders who possess: A strong background in bid management within construction, property services, social housing, maintenance or refurbishment sectors Proven experience leading and developing bid teams Excellent commercial awareness and understanding of tender governance Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills Outstanding written communication and presentation abilities The ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment Experience working closely with operational, estimating and commercial teams
