Mae Amgueddfa Cymru yn awyddus i benodi Pennaeth Botaneg newydd i arwain tîm curadurol profiadol sy'n cynnal gwaith ymchwil a rhaglenni ymgysylltu â'r cyhoedd arloesol. Mae'r rôl arwain strategol hon yn gyfle i siapio sut mae amgueddfa genedlaethol Cymru yn mynd i'r afael â heriau bioamrywiaeth ac amgylcheddol byd-eang trwy ein casgliadau o'r radd flaenaf ac ymchwil arloesol.
Byddwch yn arwain tîm o guraduron ac ymchwilwyr, yn ennill nawdd gan gyrff fel UKRI a'r Gymdeithas Frenhinol ac yn sicrhau bod ein casgliadau Botaneg yn parhau i fod yn berthnasol ac yn hygyrch. Fel Arweinydd Project ar brojectau ymchwil effaith-uchel, byddwch yn hyrwyddo cydweithredu rhyngddisgyblaethol ar draws y gwyddorau, y celfyddydau a'r dyniaethau, gan gefnogi ein gweledigaeth Strategaeth 2030 yn uniongyrchol.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Mae'r cyfrifoldebau allweddol yn cynnwys datblygu'r casgliadau, rheoli cyllidebau ymchwil, cyhoeddi allbynnau academaidd a meithrin partneriaethau â sefydliadau addysg uwch. Byddwch yn dirprwyo ar ran y Pennaeth Adran yn ôl yr angen, yn mentora staff ac yn hyrwyddo arferion cynhwysol sy'n adlewyrchu ein cynulleidfaoedd amrywiol.
Rydym yn awyddus i benodi Botanegydd cymwys â gradd Doethuriaeth (neu gyfwerth) sydd â phrofiad o reoli casgliadau amgueddfeydd, arwain tîm ac ymgeisio'n llwyddiannus am grantiau.
