HEAD OF BUILDING SAFETY
Premier
Competitive
Hybrid - Macclesfield
Role Overview
You will step into a pivotal role shaping Premier’s building safety approach across a diverse residential portfolio. As an emerging specialist or junior head, you’ll lead day-to-day building safety activity while learning from and partnering closely with our Director of Health & Safety.
You will influence policy, embed best practice, and help translate regulation into clear, practical action that keeps residents safe and informed. This is a rare opportunity to take ownership, grow your leadership capability, and make a visible difference across developments nationwide.
ROLE EXPECTATIONS
You will coordinate and drive our building safety compliance programme, ensuring risks are identified, prioritised, and addressed with speed and care. You will translate evolving legislation into clear standards, support site teams and suppliers, and keep residents at the heart of every decision. You will report on progress, escalate issues early, and work hand in hand with the Director of H&S.
What Success Looks Like
- You create a clear, portfolio wide view of building safety risk and maintain an accurate, living “golden thread” of information.
- You deliver timely, compliant assessments, actions, and reporting with zero surprises for residents, clients, or regulators.
- You build trusted relationships with property, projects, and supplier teams, enabling fast, high-quality remediation.
- You communicate proactively and empathetically with residents, turning complex updates into clear, reassuring messages.
- You spot trends, recommend practical improvements, and implement changes that tighten controls and reduce risk.
- You confidently represent Premier with clients and stakeholders, demonstrating professionalism and accountability.
How You'll Spend Most Of Your Time
- Coordinating building safety assessments, actions, and follow-ups across allocated developments.
- Managing the flow and accuracy of technical documentation to maintain the golden thread.
- Partnering with property managers, contractors, and consultants to plan and track remedial works.
- Monitoring legislative changes and turning them into practical guidance, templates, and training.
- Preparing concise reports, dashboards, and briefings for the Director of H&S and senior stakeholders.
- Leading resident-facing communications on safety matters, ensuring clarity, care, and timeliness.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
