Head of Business Data & Technology Management
The Head of Business Data & Technology Management is a senior Markets leadership role responsible for defining and executing the Markets data strategy and managing the business's technology agenda.
The role owns the Markets data framework, including data quality, governance, regulatory interactions, business data services, and the development of data as a strategic platform. Working closely with business, Technology, and Data partners, the role ensures that Markets data is accurate, accessible, well-governed, and positioned to support future business growth and analytical capabilities. The role also acts as the primary business interface to Technology, helping business leaders define technology roadmaps, manage technology demand, prioritise investment requests, and ensure effective delivery against agreed objectives.
This position can be based in New York or London.
Key Responsibilities
Data Strategy & Governance
- Define and lead the Markets data strategy, positioning data as a strategic business asset.
- Establish effective governance for data quality, ownership, lineage, standards, and controls.
- Oversee regulatory data requests, audit inquiries, and business data requirements.
- Drive improvements in data accessibility, consistency, reliability, and accountability across Markets.
- Partner with Risk, Compliance, Finance, and Enterprise Data teams to ensure adherence to regulatory and governance standards.

Data Platform Development
- Lead the evolution of Markets data into a scalable and reusable business platform.
- Define priorities for data architecture, accessibility, interoperability, and re-use.
- Sponsor initiatives that improve the integration, usability, and strategic value of Markets data.
- Develop and maintain the long-term Markets data roadmap in partnership with Technology and Data organisations.
Technology Strategy & Demand Management
- Act as the central coordinator for Markets technology demand and work with technology to pressure test resource requirements and development timelines.
- Ensure business requirements, expected benefits, priorities, and dependencies are clearly articulated and supported by robust business cases.
- Partner with business leaders to define and maintain technology roadmaps aligned to strategic objectives.
- Rationalise and prioritise technology demand across Markets, balancing commercial, regulatory, and operational needs.
Delivery Oversight & Business Partnership
- Serve as the primary interface between Markets and Technology leadership.
- Track progress against agreed technology commitments, milestones, and outcomes.
- Provide transparent oversight of delivery risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating where required.
- Support business leaders in navigating technology decisions, capabilities, constraints, and trade-offs.
- Foster strong alignment, accountability, and partnership between Markets, Technology, and Data organisations.

Leadership & Governance
- Lead the Business Data & Technology Management function.
- Establish governance, reporting, and decision-making frameworks across data and technology initiatives.
- Develop a team of trusted advisors supporting Markets leadership.
