Role: Head of Business Development & Commercial Location: Midlands / North England (Hybrid) Package: £120,000 - £130,000 + car/car allowance, 20% bonus4
A high-growth engineering services organisation is seeking a Business Development & Commercial Lead to facilitate its next phase of expansion across the UK and international markets.
Operating within critical infrastructure and energy sectors, the business has grown rapidly and is now targeting further growth through diversification and new market entry.
This is a pivotal leadership role with full responsibility for revenue growth, commercial strategy, and business development delivery.

Key responsibilities: Define and execute a 5-year growth strategy. Own P&L performance and deliver against revenue targets. Drive new business acquisition and expand key client accounts. Lead commercial activities, including bidding, pre-construction, and contract strategy. Engage at senior stakeholder level (internal and external). Identify opportunities across gas, utilities, water, hydrogen, LNG, and broader energy infrastructure.
Candidate profile: Proven track record in business development within engineering services within energy, utilities, or infrastructure. Strong commercial and financial acumen with P&L ownership experience. Background in contractor, consultancy, or client-side environments. Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to delivery. Credible, driven, and capable of operating at the executive level.
