Are you a commercially driven sales leader with a passion for the Social Housing sector?
We're looking for a Head of Business Development to lead our external market offer and customer proposition for Social Housing, driving market growth and shaping our sales strategy across one of our most important sectors.
This is a senior leadership role at the heart of our Managed Services Business Development team. You'll lead a team of Business Development Managers, build lasting relationships with our largest customers, and work closely with our Framework Manager to strengthen our position with Procurement Framework providers, a key channel for winning and retaining business in this sector.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll be a key voice for Managed Services within the wider Travis Perkins Group, playing an active part in shaping our Social Housing strategic direction alongside the Managed Services leadership team and senior peers. Day to day, you will:
- Lead, develop and coach your Business Development team, setting the standard for how we meet and exceed our Social Housing customers' expectations
- Use market data, customer insight and commercial acumen to build and implement a sales strategy that delivers on our strategic priorities
- Partner with the Marketing Manager and Managed Services leadership team to shape our Social Housing marketing strategy
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with our largest and most strategic customers
- Work alongside the Head of Bids to sharpen our bid strategy and improve conversion rates
- Continually assess existing and target customers to identify and deliver profitable growth opportunities
- Champion the credibility and technical expertise of your team, positioning us as the trusted partner for social housing customers
- Collaborate seamlessly across internal stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in our service proposition

What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A background in the Social Housing sector, whether as a customer, supplier or related provider
- A track record of growing existing accounts and winning new business with large tier one customers
- Strong people leadership skills with experience leading and developing sales teams
- Excellent communication, listening and questioning skills
- A genuine passion for getting it right for the customer, every time
- Strong problem solving ability, financial and data savvy, and commercially aware
- Confident researching markets and negotiating contracts
- Able to deliver professional, well-articulated presentations, proposals and reports
- Good understanding of the Building Materials sector, ideally with social housing experience

Preferred:
- A Level or equivalent standard, plus sales management training or qualifications
- Experience embedding sales tools within a sales team
- A proven track record of leading business development teams and managing large customers
You'll be someone who can see the big picture while getting into the detail, who connects the dots across the business, and who flexes their style depending on the stakeholder. Driven, credible and articulate, you'll bring people together and instil trust and confidence at every level.
Team
You will lead 3 x Business Development Managers (Social Housing, regionally aligned) and report to the Business Development Director (Social Housing).
