Are you a BI leader who enjoys building a reporting function that's proactive rather than reactive?

This London-based Housing Association is looking for a Head of Business Intelligence to reshape how reporting and insight supports the organisation.

The BI team plays a critical role, producing operational, performance and external reporting across the business. They've built a reputation for always delivering what stakeholders ask for, but that's also created an environment where reporting has become increasingly bespoke and reactive.

Now they're looking for someone to reset the function.

Rather than simply producing more reports, you'll help the team become more strategic. You'll introduce greater structure, streamline reporting, increase automation, and create the capacity to generate insights that genuinely improve organisational performance.

It's an exciting time to join. The organisation is investing in major system change, including a new customer platform and finance system, creating an opportunity to rethink how data is collected, connected and used across the business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

This isn't about arriving with all the answers. They're looking for someone who has been part of a successful BI transformation before and can bring proven ideas, challenge existing ways of working, and provide the leadership needed to move the function forward.

Responsibilities

As Head of Business Intelligence, you'll be responsible for:

  • Leading and developing the Business Intelligence team.
  • Reviewing how reporting is currently delivered and introducing a more efficient, scalable approach.
  • Reducing manual and duplicated reporting through greater automation and standardisation.
  • Helping shift the team's focus from report production towards meaningful business insight.
  • Supporting the organisation through the implementation of new business systems and ensuring data is structured effectively from the outset.
  • Working closely with stakeholders across the business to understand reporting requirements while providing constructive challenge where appropriate.
  • Developing a BI roadmap that supports better decision making across the organisation.
