Head of Campaigning and Programmes
Head of Campaigning and Programmes – Permanent
The Woodland Trust is seeking a Permanent Head of Campaigning and Programmes to lead our work in mobilising public support for our vision: a world where woods and trees thrive for people and nature.
The Role

The Head of Campaigning and Programmes will lead our UK-wide campaigning activity and manage several strategic delivery programmes, including:
- Trees For All
- Woods Under Threat
- Free Trees for Schools and Communities

Responsibilities include:
- Managing teams delivering these campaigns and programmes
- Achieving ambitious targets to mobilise both new and existing supporters
- Driving strategic programme objectives
- Contributing to the development and implementation of the Trust’s long-term strategy
- Collaborating internally and externally to maximise impact

Work arrangement: Hybrid role (6–8 in-office days per year, based at Grantham, Lincolnshire)

Potential for occasional travel and overnight stays

The Ideal Candidate
You will bring:
- Passion for nature recovery, climate action, and equitable access to trees and green spaces, aligned with the Woodland Trust’s mission, values, and ethical principles
- A strong understanding of campaigning, supporter mobilisation and integrated influencing strategies
- Senior leadership experience in inspiring and developing teams
- Proven project/programme management skills with experience working collaboratively across cross-disciplinary teams
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder influence at a senior level
- Experience in identifying, developing and leading campaigns, ideally within the voluntary sector
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders in complex organisations
