Head of Captive Insurance

Location: London/Home hybrid
Time Type: Full time
Worker Type: Employee
Position Type: Permanent

About the Role

QBE is investing in its captive management capability as a core pillar of our Corporate and Multinational proposition. In this newly created Captive Manager role, you will be pivotal in designing, embedding and scaling QBE’s captive solutions for Corporate clients, ensuring they are commercially compelling, operationally robust and fully integrated into our wider offering.

This is a high-impact role at a key point in QBE’s growth journey. You will act as the enterprise owner for captive solutions, shaping how we partner with clients, brokers and internal teams to deliver sophisticated captive-enabled programmes across Europe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and shape QBE’s end-to-end Captive Solutions proposition for Corporate clients as a core part of the Corporate and Multinational strategy.
  • Design a clear, market-facing captive value proposition aligned to QBE’s growth priorities and target client segments.
  • Act as the enterprise owner and subject-matter expert for captive structures across Europe, advising senior stakeholders and underwriting teams.
  • Seamlessly embed captive solutions into Corporate and Multinational engagement, underwriting and servicing models.
  • Lead complex client and broker discussions, including programme design, optimisation and retention of key Corporate clients.
  • Represent QBE externally at broker forums, client meetings and industry events to promote captive capability.
  • Define and evolve the captive operating model, covering onboarding, collateral, premium flows, claims reporting and governance.
  • Drive scalability and efficiency by standardising processes and influencing technology, data and workflow requirements.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
