Head of Care– Empower Family Group

We are recruiting a Head of Care - To lead and oversee Empower Family Group's Residential, Supported Living and Outreach services, ensuring full compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, standards, and organisational policies.

As our Head of Care, you’ll be at the heart of our mission - Empowering Care, Working Together, Learning and Leading - and play a pivotal role in strengthening our culture, maintaining safeguarding standards, and operational excellence.

You will provide effective strategic and operational leadership, ensuring high-quality, consistent care and support for children and young people across all existing and future provisions.

The role is responsible for ensuring that services meet performance and growth objectives, supporting the development of new provisions, and driving continuous improvement across the organisation. Working in partnership with internal and external stakeholders, you will lead placement decision-making, coordinate care planning, and promote a collaborative approach to achieving positive outcomes for children and young people.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing effective leadership and management across Residential, Supported Living and Outreach services.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, government guidance, and company policies.
  • Maintaining high standards of care, safeguarding, and service delivery for children and young people.
  • Leading placement decisions and working collaboratively with commissioners, local authorities, and other partner agencies.
  • Supporting the strategic growth and development of existing and new service provisions.
  • Monitoring service performance against agreed targets and driving continuous improvement.
  • Ensuring a coordinated, child-centred approach to care planning and service delivery across all provisions.

Requirements

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Taunton, TA2 8QN: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

  • Senior managerial: 3 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • Degree (required)
  • Driving Licence (required)
  • Level 5 in Leadership and Management Qualification (required)
