About the Role
As part of the Children and Families Department, we take a strengths-based approach known as "Our Nottinghamshire Approach"—prioritising growth, learning, and enjoyment for young people and families.
Notts Outdoors, a dedicated team within Nottinghamshire County Council, is committed to creating transformative outdoor experiences in the Peak District. Our Hagg Farm Outdoor Education Centre invites you to join as Head of Centre—a leadership role that blends management with inspiration.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and sustainability of the Hagg Farm Outdoor Education Centre.
- Oversee staff, programmes, facilities, and resources to maintain high standards.
- Ensure full compliance with safety and quality regulations in outdoor environments.
- Collaborate with Notts Outdoors and partner agencies to promote outdoor activities.
- Manage budgets, resources, and performance effectively to achieve centre objectives.
- Foster a positive, inclusive team culture that retains talent and inspires excellence.

Essential Requirements
- Relevant qualification in outdoor education, management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ leadership experience in an educational or outdoor setting.
- Proven experience in budget management and resource allocation.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety in outdoor environments.

- Communication: Excellent verbal/written skills to engage with teams, families, and partners.
