Salary & Contract
- Salary: £39,152 – £44,075 per annum
- Type: Permanent
- Working Hours: 37 per week (including weekends)
- Location: Hagg Farm Outdoor Education Centre, Bamford, S33 0BJ
About the Role
The Children and Families Department champions a strengths-based approach to work with children, young people, families, and partner agencies, known as Our Nottinghamshire Approach.
Notts Outdoors, a team within Nottinghamshire County Council, is dedicated to delivering impactful, hands-on experiences for children and families. Located in the stunning Peak District, Hagg Farm Outdoor Education Centre offers a unique setting to inspire growth and learning through outdoor activities.
We are seeking an exceptional Head of Centre to provide strategic leadership in overseeing a vibrant outdoor learning environment. This role is key to delivering safe, high-quality, and engaging experiences while fostering team excellence and driving innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and sustainability of Hagg Farm Outdoor Education Centre.
- Oversee staff, programmes, facilities, and resources to ensure excellence in delivery.
- Ensure strict compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with Notts Outdoors to promote outdoor activities across Nottinghamshire.
- Manage budgets and resources efficiently to support centre operations.
- Drive team performance and foster a positive, inclusive culture.

Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant qualification in outdoor education, management, or a related field.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a leadership role within an educational or outdoor setting.
- Proven ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations in outdoor environments.
