Role Overview

We are looking for a highly capable and commercially astute Head of CEO Office to work closely with our CEO in a pivotal, high-impact role.

This role will act as the central coordination point for executive activity, ensuring:

  • The CEO Office operates effectively
  • Strategic priorities translate into clear action across the bank

Reporting directly to the CEO, this position enables high-quality decision-making through:

  • Exceptional analysis
  • Communication
  • Executive insight

Hybrid role:

  • Potentially home-based, depending on location
  • Regular travel to London and Newcastle

Key responsibilities will include strong financial acumen, ideally from a financial services background, with the ability to:

  • Interpret complex data
  • Develop executive materials, including:
    • Board packs
    • ALCO papers
    • Business performance scorecards
  • Transform insights into concise and impactful deliverables

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the CEO in delivering:
    • Strategic priorities
    • Operational priorities
    • Governance objectives
  • Manage and coordinate the effective operation of the CEO Office
  • Produce high-quality:
    • Board papers
    • ExCo materials
    • ALCO packs
    • Executive briefings
  • Translate complex financial, operational and strategic data into clear and actionable insight
  • Support:
    • Strategic planning
    • Business performance reviews
    • Executive decision-making
  • Develop and maintain:
    • Business scorecards
    • Performance reporting
  • Track delivery of operational strategy to ensure strong follow-through across the bank
  • Coordinate Executive Committee activities to enhance governance effectiveness
  • Challenge and continually improve the quality, clarity, and impact of executive materials
  • Build strong, credible relationships with:
    • Senior stakeholders
    • External partners
  • Support the CEO's preparation for:
    • Board meetings
    • Investor engagement
    • Regulatory engagement

Requirements

  • Experience in financial services including:
    • Banking
    • Lending
    • Regulated environments
  • Background in:
    • Consulting
    • Strategy
    • Executive office operations
    • Business management
  • Proven experience producing:
    • Board-level materials
    • Executive materials
  • Strong ability to:
    • Interpret financial data
    • Synthesise insights
    • Influence decision-making
  • Experience with:
    • Creating ALCO packs
    • Performance scorecards
    • Financial reporting
  • Advanced proficiency in:
    • PowerPoint
    • Excel
  • Exceptional:
    • Written communication skills
