Head of Change – Job Description
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Head of Change to lead our change function and play a pivotal role in the continued evolution of W1M as we deliver our growth strategy.
This role will be responsible for aligning and prioritising change activity across the business, ensuring effective delivery of initiatives across all functions and declaring external delivery partners to support growth, efficiency, and regulatory readiness in line with our strategic objectives.
As a member of the COO leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in embedding and evolving a change operating model that enables the successful delivery of current and future transformation priorities.
About the Company
W1M was formed in 2024 through the merger of London & Capital and Waverton, two established wealth managers with over 40 years of history. Since then, the business has grown to over 400 employees and manages approximately £27+ billion in assets under management.
We are a UK wealth management firm operating in a regulated environment, providing investment and wealth management services to private clients, families, charities, and institutions.

Key Accountabilities
- Evolve the Change function into a flexible operating model leveraging internal resources, secondments, and external partners
- Ensure all change initiatives are aligned to strategic priorities, business outcomes, and regulatory obligations
- Define and maintain the firm’s delivery framework, prioritisation model, ensuring consistency, control, and value realisation
- Provide oversight of programme and project delivery, including risks, dependencies, and benefits, through established governance forums
- Act as an escalation point for delivery risks and issues, ensuring appropriate resolution and executive visibility
- Maintain high standards of delivery governance, ensuring initiatives are appropriately planned, resourced, and tracked
- Support benefit realisation and post-implementation reviews to ensure outcomes are measured and sustained
- Promote consistent approaches to change planning, budgeting, risk management, and documentation across the portfolio
- Build organisational change maturity through structured methodologies, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement
- Enhance the project sponsorship model across the business, ensuring clear ownership and accountability for delivery success
- Chair Change and Transformation governance forums

Background / Experience and Competencies Required
- Proven experience leading business change within wealth management or financial services
- Relevant change or project management qualifications (e.g., Prince2, **-**PMI, Agile, Six Sigma)
- Experience designing and embedding change strategies, prioritisation frameworks, and portfolio management disciplines
- Strong leadership experience across cross-functional teams, including internal and external resources
- Broad experience across both business and technology change, including digital transformation, regulatory programmes, and operating model design
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience influencing at executive and board level
- Familiarity with FCA regulatory expectations, including Consumer Duty, operational resilience, and conduct risk
- Experience managing third-party delivery partners or flexible resourcing models

- Highly credible at senior stakeholder level, able to influence and challenge constructively
- Structured in your thinking, with strong governance and delivery discipline
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Pragmatic and delivery-focused, balancing control with pace
- Able to build strong relationships across business, technology, and external partners
