The Change Support Unit (CSU)
The Head of Change sits within CSU, a central team dedicated to enabling positive, sustainable change at City St George’s. This pivotal role works collaboratively with the Director of Change, Head of PMO, and Head of Business Analysis. Reporting directly to the Director of Change, the Head of Change is responsible for:
- Defining, owning, and continuously improving the University’s Change Management Framework
- Aligning it with project/programme management lifecycles
- Accelerating effective change execution across the university’s portfolio

Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Change Management
- Lead the design, delivery, and ongoing refinement of a change management methodology, tools, and templates
- Ensure they are practical, widely adopted, and consolidately applied across the organisation
- Provide strategic guidance, challenge, and assurance to Business Change Managers, senior stakeholders, sponsors, and delivery teams
Championing Behavioural Impact & Adoption
- Deliver expert analysis and support on change risks, organisational readiness, adoption challenges, and stakeholder adoption trends
- Ensure people-centred considerations are embedded in strategic planning and decision-making
- Reduce resistance and increase buy-in through proactive engagement, advocacy, and stakeholder influence
Embedding Best Practice
- Champion best practice in organisational change management and transformation
- Engage barriers, uncertainties, or potential issues to mitigate impact
- Drive transparency and accountability around change impacts
Person Specification
Qualifications & Experience
- Hold a relevant professional qualification in change management, project management, or strategic leadership
- Proven substantial experience in steering complex business transformation (both one-off and commercial or full-scale change programmes).
- Deep understanding of organisational design, change methodologies and frameworks, business analysis principles, and alignment with programme teams.
Stakeholder Management & Leadership
- Demonstrate an exceptional track record in stakeholder engagement, builds consensus, and drives tiered influence.
- Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, and relationship-building skills to foster buy-in and alignment.
