Head of Charity Fundraising
Head of Fundraising – Newcastle Hospitals Charity
About the Role
The Head of Fundraising will lead the strategic development and delivery of all fundraising activities for Newcastle Hospitals Charity, ensuring its voluntary income supports patients, staff, and services across Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, one of the busiest and largest NHS hospital trusts in the country.
You will oversee a diverse fundraising portfolio, including:
- Major gifts
- Trusts and foundations
- Corporate partnerships
- Community fundraising
- Individual giving
Collaborating closely with the Deputy Charity Director (Income and Engagement) and broader team, you will develop and implement a sustainable fundraising strategy, aligning efforts with organisational priorities and growth ambitions.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide strong leadership and people management, motivating and developing a high-performing fundraising team
- Act as a key ambassador for the charity, fostering high-value relationships with supporters, partners, and stakeholders at local and national levels
- Generate significant income growth through strategic fundraising initiatives
- Translate strategic vision into operational success within a values-driven environment

- Proven track record of delivering impactful fundraising results in a trusted NHS or charitable setting
- Exceptional relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong ability to inspire and lead teams towards shared goals
- Commitment to upholding the charity’s core values while driving sustainable growth

- Hours: 37 hours 30 minutes per week
