This isn’t a steady-state role.
It’s a reset.
We’re looking for a senior operational leader to take ownership of our UK Retail Claims function at a pivotal point - stabilising performance today while fundamentally reshaping how the function operates for the future.
If you’ve led transformation at scale, enjoy working in complexity, and want a role where you can genuinely change how a business performs - this is it.
Why this role matters
Claims is a core operational pillar of our UK Retail business - and right now, it’s undergoing significant transformation.
We’re growing, we’re acquisitive, and we’re evolving fast. That brings opportunity -but also complexity. Legacy ways of working don’t always align with where we’re going.
Your job?
Bring structure, control and performance at scale - while continuing to deliver for clients every day.
This isn’t about designing a model and walking away.
It’s about leading change, landing it, and making it stick.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll take full ownership of the Claims operation - performance, transformation and future capability.
Lead the operation
- Own end-to-end performance across all claims handling pathways
- Stabilise delivery quickly while driving long-term structural change
- Deliver and embed the Claims Target Operating Model — and make sure it actually works in practice
- Create real visibility through robust, trusted MI that drives decisions
Drive transformation
- Move the operation to a centralised, triage-led model
- Redesign structures, workflows and capacity models to perform at scale
- Simplify processes, reducing inconsistency and manual workarounds
- Improve productivity, cycle times and cost-to-serve through data-led decisions
- Embed a consistent performance framework across all claims pathways
- Work with Technology and Data teams to implement meaningful automation and AI - focusing on what delivers real impact

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
