Head of Client Services – Global Insurance Provider

The Role: Head of Client Services

Location: London offices requirement: Global insurance specialist to create and lead our newly formed Client Services function

In this pivotal position, you will:

  • Shape how we collaborate with clients – building trust and understanding operational challenges.
  • Coordinate between clients, underwriters, and internal teams to streamline workflows.
  • Ensure timely, effective resolutions while driving exponential improvements in relationship management.

This is a central hub for partnership success, balancing client needs with commercial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Client Engagement

  • Act as the primary liaison for all major clients.
  • Build and maintain strong, impactful relationships.
  • Create value-driven client programmes for sustained partnership growth.

Operational Coordination

  • Lead cross-functional teams (legal, underwriting, operations, sales) to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Improve operational processes and workflows.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on best practices for partnerships.

Relationship & Commercial Impact

  • Transition from reactive issue resolution to proactive client success models.
  • Align client expectations with operational capabilities for mutual success.
  • Implement data-driven relationship strategies to drive commercial benefits.

Team Leadership

  • Build, mentor, and coach your team to deliver consistently high performance.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration within Client Services.

Essential Criteria

  • Insurance (or regulated financial services) industry experience, with an emphasis on client-facing operations.
  • Demonstrated operational expertise in process improvement and reforms.
  • In-depth knowledge of Delegated Authority (DA) models (preferred) or strong understanding of DA workflows.
  • Track record in managing third-party relationships – strong negotiation, influence, and collaboration skills.
  • Project-management mindset with a focus on quick, structured problem-solving.
  • Leadership skills to create and drive a high-performing team.
  • Client-centric mindset, confident in influencing stakeholders at all levels.
