Head of Cloud, IT & Security
Hybrid | Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer
Are you a hands-on technology leader who enjoys solving complex technical challenges while shaping the future of cloud, security and AI?
We're looking for an experienced Head of Cloud, IT & Security to lead the operational delivery, security and continuous improvement of our technology estate. Reporting directly to the CTO, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring our cloud platforms, enterprise applications and IT services remain secure, resilient and fit for the future.
This isn't a role where you'll sit on the sidelines. We're looking for someone who enjoys staying close to the technology, whether that's reviewing Azure architecture, leading cyber security initiatives, challenging managed service providers, automating processes or implementing AI-powered solutions that make a real business impact.
What you'll be doing
You'll take ownership of our cloud infrastructure, IT operations and cyber security function, including:
- Leading the operational management of our Microsoft Azure and AWS environments, ensuring performance, resilience and cost optimisation.
- Owning IT Operations, Infrastructure, Modern Workplace, Identity Management and Cyber Security services.
- Acting as the senior technical escalation point for complex cloud, infrastructure and security issues.
- Managing third-party Managed Service Providers, Service Desk and Security Operations partners, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Driving automation, Infrastructure as Code and modern cloud operational practices.
- Identifying and implementing AI solutions using technologies such as Microsoft Copilot, OpenAI and Claude to improve productivity and automate business processes.
- Leading cyber security operations including vulnerability management, incident response, threat monitoring and remediation.
- Owning Microsoft 365, Entra ID, endpoint management, collaboration platforms and identity governance.
- Developing Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery strategies.
- Maintaining cloud governance, security standards and technical documentation.
- Ensuring compliance with ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus, GDPR and other security frameworks.
- Working closely with Engineering, Product, Data and Business teams to ensure operational readiness.
- Managing technology suppliers, contracts, licensing and operational budgets.
- Producing operational reporting and driving continual service improvement.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
