Why HSBC
HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world. Guided by our purpose of opening up a world of opportunity, our ambition is to become the world’s most trusted bank globally, putting customers at the heart of everything we do.
The Role
The Head of Commercial Execution sets the strategic direction for Wealth & Premier Solutions (WPS) and ensures the business delivers against its most important priorities. Working on behalf of the Head of WPS, the role coordinates execution across the WPS Operational Committee and keeps strategic milestones on track through clear governance and performance monitoring. It plays a central role in shaping an actionable global strategy then translating it into initiatives, scorecards and forums that enable timely decisions.
Success means strategic priorities are clearly defined, progress is visible and underperformance is addressed early with practical plans. The role also provides high-quality executive materials and market insight to support decision-making at IWPB CEO, OpCo and Board level. Strong partnership across WPS and with Group Infrastructure Partners underpins delivery of key initiatives and a robust risk and control environment.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
