Head of Commercial Finance | East Midlands | £80,000 – £95,000 + Car Allowance + Significant Performance Bonus

We're working on a confidential Head of Commercial Finance search for a well-known, listed business with genuine scale and brand recognition across the UK.

If you're looking for a role with real senior commercial influence, coupled with true flexibility — read on.

You'll be embedded at the heart of the commercial operation — partnering directly with the most senior operational leaders in the business, leading a team of four Finance Business Partners, and taking ownership of everything from budgeting and forecasting through to performance analysis, investment appraisal, and long-range strategic planning.

This isn't a role where finance sits behind the scenes and reports on what's already happened. You'll be in the room when the big calls are being made — challenging assumptions, shaping the direction of the business, and making sure the numbers are driving decisions, not just recording them. Your team will be embedded across commercial, marketing, digital, property, and operational functions, which means the breadth of what you'll be across is genuinely broad.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You'll also be leading and developing a team — so people leadership matters here, not just technical credibility. The right person will be someone who can hold a room at executive level, build trust quickly, and bring a commercial edge that goes well beyond the spreadsheet.

The business is at an interesting point. There's a clear strategic agenda, real investment behind it, and a genuine appetite to put finance at the centre of how that agenda gets delivered. The CFO is someone who believes in giving their people real autonomy and investing in their development. If you want a role where your contribution is visible, your influence is real, and you're genuinely supported to grow — this is worth a conversation.
