Head of Commercial Finance

As the Head of Commercial Finance, you'll oversee the financial planning and analysis to support decision-making in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry. Based in Cambridgeshire, this role is key to ensuring the financial health and strategic growth of the business.

Our client is a leading international business within the food and fresh produce sector, partnering with major retail customers across the UK and Europe. Operating in a fast-paced commercial environment, they are seeking a commercially minded finance professional to support strategic decision-making and drive business performance.

Description

  • Lead the commercial finance team to deliver accurate and insightful financial analysis.
  • Develop and manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Provide financial guidance to support strategic decision-making and drive profitability.
  • Analyse market trends and business performance to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment with financial goals.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior stakeholders.
  • Oversee cost control measures and investment appraisals.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.

Profile

A successful Head of Commercial Finance should have:

  • A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • Strong experience in financial planning and analysis within the FMCG industry.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities, especially with senior stakeholders.
  • Confidence in working with large datasets and financial modelling.
